Samsung is done launching both of its flagships for 2017. While we are drooling over the newly launched Galaxy Note 8, the company has already started working on the Galaxy S9. We expect its launch in Q1 2018.
With 6 months to go, XDA Developers has obtained a bunch of new information about the smartphone. According to the publication, the successor of Galaxy S8 will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor Snapdragon 845 SoC. The chipset is said to be coupled with 4GB of RAM. Well, it sounds unlikely since the Galaxy Note 8 packs 6GB RAM. So we expect the Galaxy S9 to come with 6GB RAM.
As for storage space, the smartphone is expected to feature 64GB of internal storage, which is same as the Galaxy S8 duo. Besides this, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is likely to have a nearly same display as its predecessor. This means its display will offer QHD+ resolution with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and curved edges.
Talking about the photography aspect, the Galaxy S9 is speculated to flaunt a dual camera setup on its back.
The report further reveals the placement of the fingerprint scanner will be changed. On the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, the fingerprint scanner is placed kind of awkwardly beside the rear camera module. Chances are, we will get to see an under-screen fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S9.
This is pretty much everything the report states about Samsung’s 2018 flagship. Well, with the rise of rumors and leaks in the tech-sphere, it is just a matter of time before Galaxy S9’s other features get revealed.
