How to Capture Photos or Videos in High Efficiency Formats on iPhone and iPad

iOS 11 includes two new camera formats such as HEVC (High-Efficiency Video Coding) and HEIF (High-Efficiency Image File Format). They can reduce up to 50% file size of your media; without any loss in the image quality. So, if you want to keep the storage of your device in check, make sure to capture photos and videos in high-efficiency formats on your iPhone and iPad.

This feature could be a huge deal for the folks who have lower-capacity devices. But even if your iPhone is on the high end of storage, it would be apt to not let those cool shots go overboard, wouldn’t it?

Wrapping up

The HEIF and HEVC are new camera formats. I like their ability to enhance photo and video quality while reducing nearly half of the size.
