Action Launcher update brings support for some nifty Android O features

Action Launcher, the popular Android app has just received a small but important update that gives users a taste of what’s to come when Google launches Android O.

Of course, this update is not just about Android O, but these are among the most important changes you’ll get in the newest version of Action Launcher.

First off, Action Launcher now features Android O App Shortcut styling, as well as notification previews. Also, Notification Dots has been implemented, but those who prefer numerical unread badges instead of this specific feature, the new version of Action Launcher is able to see Unread Count graduate from the previous Alpha status.

On top of that, developer Chris Lacy confirmed that Action Launcher users will now be able to granularly control which apps display unread badges and use Android O’s notification previews along with Unread Count.

Moreover, the Android O widget picker has been included too, and there’s now support for Android O style animated clock icon and custom widget.

Last but not least, Action Launcher v26 comes with full Google Now integration for everyone who uses Android Lollipop or later. Keep in mind that in order to use it, you will need to install the Action Launcher Google Plugin, which is not available for download via Google Play Store.
